This karakia talks of picking or pecking at snacks, welcoming in the energy and vitality they have.
It's designed to be a quick and simple offering for before snacks.
For a while I found the word ‘karakia’ a bit intimidating - I wanted to be respectful, I didn’t want to mess it up, and I wanted the words to be meaningful to me. Then I heard someone describe one of the functions of karakia to be that of marking transitions and bringing intentionality - and I really liked that explanation.
With that in mind… We offer you this karakia for snacks as means to bring a moment of mindfulness before the snacking commences.
Design and reo by Reo Māori Mai, printed in Ōtautahi, Christchurch.
This karakia is 21cm square (the short side of A4).
A translation is included on the reverse of each karakia purchased.
